TEN-FOUR

Tester Quick-Start Guide

1 Install the App

Join the test β€” use the Google Play link provided to you. You must be part of the closed testing group to download.
Install Ten-Four from the Play Store once the testing invitation is accepted.

2 Create Your Account (Company Portal)

Before logging into the app, you need to create your user account. Open a browser and go to:
Portal URL https://ptt.maumea.co.nz/company
Log in with the Company Code and Admin Password posted in the Google Groups conversation tab.
Navigate to the Users page from the sidebar.
Click Add User. Enter a username (e.g. your Reddit handle) and a password of your choice.
Your account is now ready β€” remember your username and password for the app login.
The portal is a web app β€” works on desktop and mobile browsers. You can also use it to manage channels and monitor the fleet map.
Portal features you can explore:
πŸ“Š
Dashboard
Stats, online users, activity feed
πŸ‘₯

3 Log In to the App

Open Ten-Four on your phone. After the splash screens you'll see the login screen with three fields:
Company Code (same code used for the portal)
Username (the username you created in Step 2)
Password (the password you chose in Step 2)
Tap CONTINUE. You'll land on the PTT screen with your assigned channel.
Grant permissions when prompted β€” the app will ask for Microphone (for PTT) and Location (for fleet tracking).

4 Test Push-to-Talk

You'll see a large red PTT button in the centre of the screen.
Press and hold the PTT button to talk. The status changes from READY β†’ ON AIR.
Release to stop transmitting. Your voice message is sent to everyone on the channel.
If another tester is online, you'll hear their voice when they transmit.
The channel selector at the top lets you switch between channels. Only one person can transmit at a time per channel.

5 Test GPS / Fleet Map

Tap the Map icon in the bottom navigation bar.
You'll see a "My Location" map showing your own GPS position. This is the default view for all users.
Tap the layers button (top-right) to cycle through map styles: Street, Satellite, Topo, Dark.
To see all users on the map, you need the View Other Users on Map permission enabled (supervisors and admins have this by default). You can also view all users from the Company Portal Fleet Map page.
There are two map permissions: View Fleet Map (see your own location β€” enabled for all users by default) and View Other Users on Map (see all drivers β€” supervisors and admins only by default).

6 Test Messaging

Tap the Messages icon in the bottom nav.
Tap New Message to open the user list.
Select a user and type a text message. Hit send.
The recipient will see the message appear in their Messages tab.
Messaging requires at least two users online in the same company.
